About
It is the most liberating experience, when you finally discover your talent and begin the journey toward fulfilling your passion that was once buried in your sub-conscious. My propensity for taking soulful portraits inspired me to pursue my natural gift as a photographer. As a young boy growing up in Guyana, I was surrounded by a vibrant culture rich in history, architecture and untouched beauty. I’ve always had a love of the outdoors which provided a constant flow of inspiration for my creative side. I was raised in a household where women were my strongest influence. They taught me resilience, self-sufficiency and a strong will. Much of my drive comes from my late grandmother, who cultivated my strong work ethic and profound understanding of women. I was able to apply her teachings when I decided to steer my focus toward the art of photography.
I recognize beauty within all my subjects and have an ability to capture their emotional story through my lens. This innate quality grants me the instinctive awareness for capturing the perfect moment. I am a seasoned story-teller in a constant search of more ways to express my love of photography. Over the last 3 years I have sharpened my skills by capturing many of New York’s most celebrated events; such as Afro Punk Fest, West Indian Day Parade, Essence Magazine Block Party, Live performances at Prospect Park Bandshell and many others.
I call Brooklyn home, but I travel around the world to capture the beauty in people and their striking differences.
